As the sunshine is slowly appearing in drips and drabs throughout the UK a summer soundtrack is very much needed to pull in the warmer weather and put smiles back onto peoples faces. “Old Flame Alight” by “Mathew & Me” is that something.

Bringing together the key elements of soft vocals, happy spiky piano and a deep drumbeat this track will bring a smile to your face and a tap to your feet.

Formed last year from Totnes in Devon, UK the five piece consisting of:

Matthew Board
Grace Billings
Andrew Hopper
Lucy Fawcett
and Sam Craigan

have been producing Acoustic, Indie, Alternative music of superb quality. Similarities can easily be drawn between themselves and British Sea Power having both a similar sound and feel for music. Its also apparent that although very fresh-faced lyrically the band has huge amounts of maturity with clever subject matters and well structured songs using the vocal to its best ability. They would definitely not seem out of place supporting anyone from Arcade Fire through to Lisa Hanigan, due to their versatility across a verity of music genres. Being able to appeal to a larger audience is sure to become standard practice as they progress into their music career.

Currently signed to Drift Records they produced their self titled début EP earlier this year and it is brilliant. Packed with charm and that friendly feeling you get with a band you have known for years its surely to be the first of a long list of records to be released by this group.

I know you will want to find out more about these guys so go check them out here, you can also purchase their EP and some tasty looking merch from their Facebook store here.

Much Love & Enjoy x
