Since this is my first post I just feel the need to start with a little introduction. My posts are going to be about movies, well to be more exact, it’s films that I and people around me think everyone should  see.

I am a big movie fan and everytime I have watched something I just have this UURRGEE to talk about it with someone so now I have this chance to just post all my thoughts here. Life is just lovely, isn’t it!

I looked through all sorts of lists so I could decide what should be the first movie that I should talk about and wellll…

1.Forrest Gump (1994)

Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what you’re gonna get.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people just read that quote with a southern accent in their head.

First of all this movie has it all: comedy, drama, action. I have seen this movie easily a half a dozen times, I guess a lot of people have. It is a classic and one of the best movies of all time. Tom Hanks is the perfect guy to play the role of Forrest Gump. He has this ability to really get under your skin..in all the movies that he acts in actually, but more about that in other posts.

I’ve never met anyone like Forrest Gump. I would really like to, he is this really strange (read fascinating) guy with an IQ of 75, but he has the biggest heart and he might not understand everything that happens around him but he understands everything he needs to know…the simplest things in life, like love. Although there is a scene where Jenny tells him: “Forrest, you don’t know what love is” which actually really pissed me off. I had mixed feelings about Jenny all the way through the movie…

Absolutely every time I watch this movie I find new things that I just really like and aaah…the quotes in this movie. One of my favorites is from the scene where Jenny has gone back to Alabama to see Forrest and they were just walking and Forrest of course is talking or as he says in the movie: “Every day we’d take a walk and I’d jabber on like a monkey in a tree.”  And then Jenny sees her old house, she is just filled with this hate and that’s the scene where you really get why she is the way she is in this movie, all messed up and just lost. Jenny starts throwing first her shoes and then rocks at that house and then she just collapses on the ground and starts crying…Forrest of course doesn’t really get why she is so upset but he tries to comfort her despite that and by that point, in this scene, I always tear up a bit but then comes the quote that always makes me laugh: “Sometimes, I guess there just aren’t enough rocks.” That’s why I just love this movie…it makes you laugh while you are crying.

Of course my favorite character is Forrest Gump but the second best character for me is definately Bubba, the guy who knows everything and I mean everything about shrimps.

The several several heartwarming scenes and the way this movie has been built up is just brilliant! The 142minute movie that takes us through the journey of Forrest Gump’s life, it reminds us that we are present in the world and we have the ability to really make a difference.

Yeaah….I’m pretty sure I am going to watch it again in a year or so! There is just SO much to say about this film but it’s really hard to put it all together…have I already mentioned that it’s amazing 😀 ??? And if you haven’t seen it then quite frankly I don’t even know what words to use to describe my feelings about that.

Thought of the day:  What does normal mean anyway?
