Goooooooooooood Morrrning! Well as festival season is coming up and there are lots of exciting bands being discovered and blowing up all over the world. Having decided earlier this year (due to the irreplaceable Glastonbury taking a year out) to go to Reading festival I was hoping to discover some tasty new talent (of the music kind), I was not disappointed.

Of Monsters and Men are a six piece indie folk rock band from Garðabær in Iceland. Fronted by Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir, a twenty something lady of music, this band seems unstoppable with their takeover of the world. Their unique music style combining elements of indie rock and folk gives them a sound that stands out in a crowd and has allowed them to gather a diverse fan-base of all ages. Since being signed in 2011 to Record Records the band have produced their first album titled “My head Is An Animal”  which peaked in the US alternative chart at number six an unbelievable achievement for a group from outside the US.

The track above “Little Talks” is the first single from their début album and it is brilliant example of what crashing together two different styles of music  can create. With trumpets, cymbals and guitars creating a sound that can be described in no other way except “Massive”, it fills your ears with the feeling of triumph and pure music deliciousness. If I was going to compare their sound it is simply impossible without merging two artists, so I would  describe them as a mash between Admiral Fallow and The Joy Formidable. However their personal sound really is in a league of their own.

If you love this track please check out what else they have to offer right here on their website.

Much Love.
