Grand Resort – Night is Dark
Grand Resort is the stage name for Andres Pichardo, another native of La Romana, Dominican Republic. The recent graduate of the New England Institute of Art started by making music out of his dorm, and has finally crafted a series of mesmerizing, woozy and ethereal tracks for his upcoming debut album Vanguard Dreams.
A versatile songwriter, he is able to capture the best elements of dream pop and art-synth while keeping his music firmly anchored in stellar guitar work. The future is extremely bright for this young man, and I am really looking forward to the release of the full length album. Still making music on his own, I think an Indie label would be wise to pick him up now, give him the keys to the studio, and let him craft his personal brand of magic.
