Pulled Apart By Horses are a band hailing from Leeds, UK and formed in 2007, this is their debut self-titled album.
This album is energy packed, jumping around goodness. The kind of goodness you find in old school albums from punk movements gone by. The energy this band emanates is astounding and they pull it off with this album, not slowing the pace once. This is reflected in reports of their early live performances – in small local pubs, injury-stricken and chaotic events apparently occurred.
Saying that, it gets a bit same-y. You know when you listen to an album… And the songs begin to blur into one another? This, I feel, is slightly reminiscent of The Ramones’ music – much as I love The Ramones, I listen to their albums and wonder where they’re going after this…. Pulled Apart By Horses have an enviable energy, which is how they pull off the music. Not sure they’ll be around for an incredibly long time though.
Otherwise, a good listen, especially if you’re feeling angry.
