Hello everyone! I know it’s been a long, and unannounced hiatus, but I’m finally back and will be actively posting once again. For the curious lot – I recently graduated from law school in the US, and have spent the last two months preparing for the NY Bar exam I took it last week, and hopefully, by mid-October, it will be Jose, Esquire.

Today I bring you Hurray for the Riff Raff and their lead single Little Black Star. Hurray for the Riff Raff are a country/folk band from New Orleans, with a soulful and aching sound that captures a time gone by. Lead singer Alynda Lee Segarra, she of Puerto Rican roots and origins in the Bronx, has a voice reminiscent of old saloon singers; of whiskey and tumbleweed, and hand rolled cigarettes.

They have been picking up steam and recognition over the last few years, and are sure to be mainstays at music festivals around the nation before you know it. Check them out, and give them some love on Facebook!
