Lanterns on the Lake were ‘born’ in Newcastle (UK) five years ago. Composed of Hazel Wilde, Paul Gregory, Sarah Kemp, Oliver Ketteringham and brothers Adam and Brendan Sykes, the band immerses itself in a deep, peaceful and sometimes gloomy ambience.

Their first album “Gracious Tide, Take me Home” was released in 2011 and recorded and produced in their homes by the band members.

Despite their short trajectory,  they have supported bands like Low, Explosions on the Sky, and Yann Tiersen and they have participated in festivals as Glastonbury and SXSW.

My recommendation: lie on your bed, turn the lights off, light some candles, turn up the volume and try to fit this music into a genre. Indie? Folk? A mixture of both? Or is it “feeling” music?

And as always, enjoy the tune.
