Here is 5♥♬ (part 2):

Frank Ocean – Sweet Life

I cannot wait to listen to Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange. Judging by the tracks released so far, it will be a monumental record. The production on “Sweet Life” is classic Neptunes and I have absolutely no problem with that.

Dominic Lord – Pierce

This former member of Harlem’s ASAP crew (who says that he parted with Rocky et al. under amicable terms) recently released his first foray into music to critical acclaim by the internet tastemakers. Lord’s fashion design roots seem to put him in good stead with the video to “Pierce.” His rapping skills are charitably proficient, but the Hudson Mohawke-produced beat and the mesmerizing images on display here can carry the venture as he develops further.

nknwn – 010

I found this track on a mixtape put out by Believe in Sound, a small Irish blog that specializes in electronic music. The minimalist restraint is what makes this track most powerful, with the pregnant pauses holding on just a second longer than expected before diving back into the wailing vocal sample. This is yet another example of the countless producers that exist in the Soundcloud ether who make fantastic tracks but will probably never receive any significant recognition for their work.

Riff Raff – Summer of Surf

There really are no words to properly describe Riff Raff. My current assumption is that he is a misunderstood genius. Summer of Surf is a collection of some of his more popular songs from the past few years. I’m pumped that he is rumored to finally have an official mixtape coming out in the next few weeks. You can download Summer of Surf here.

Brenmar – Fact Mix 335

Brenmar has been one of my favorite DJs over the last six months or so because of his fantastic track selections. He brilliantly mixes modern hip hop with classic house tracks into mid-90s R&B and then back into modern UK Garage or Trap. The tracklist is available here.
