As any other student, when I first came to university, I thought I’d be surrounded by drug-and-alcohol-addicted-lazy students. However, I have also come across plenty of talented people who make mixes and produce their own music.
One of these is a 19 year old Fine Art student, Ian Nyquist, that has been producing his own music under the name of AZTEK since he was 16 years old. Originally from Glasgow, he is currently living in Dublin and has a particularly aesthetic feel to his music. Inspired by Apparat, Telefon Tel Aviv and Tim Hecker, Nyquist has produced many elementally-ethereal songs in the past, as well as experimenting with more upbeat, pop-inspired sounds lately, making his music relatable to a wide audience from all over the world. Love You Too is one of his latest creations, so have a listen and enjoy!
Elements of soundscapes and distant vocals along with gradually intensifying beats makes Aztek impossible to ignore – a genuine force to be reckoned with.
