The Fleet Foxes made their breakthrough with their 2008 one-two punch, in their Sun Giant EP and debut album Fleet Foxes.  They have provided us listeners with some of the lushest vocal harmonies, folksy guitar riffs and cleverest uses of silence to create beautiful, sweeping songs that bring us back into the thick of the woods.  Reminiscent of campfire tales, the Seattle natives struck a chord with, and helped popularize, the whole “I wear L.L. Bean-but-drive-a-Lexus-and-live-in-Brooklyn” thing that’s going on these days, whether or not they meant to.

Nonetheless, they are great musicians, and the follow up album Helplessness Blues hit the stores this summer… at Starbucks, of course.
