With stamping feet, dueling banjos and buckets of passion the triumphant sound of Mumford and Sons return to their people with the follow up to their 2009 number one album Sigh No More. The title of their long-a-waited second album is “Babel” showing increased maturity and a desperation of perfection as they aim to live up to the hype that has befallen them.
Since their first album the four boys from Wimbledon have gone on to conquer the world with their infectious and very much antithetic style of rock folk. Whilst the USA has proved hardgoing for the band, undoubtedly the fun never stopped as they Brought back the Railroad touring the country on a old steam locomotive playing throughout the night to thousands of fans. Joined by “Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros” as well as “Old Crow Medicine Show”, this was the tour people will continue to talk about when they are old and grey. Their prowess and showmanship has currently lead them to dizzying heights, recently playing for the Obamas at the White house and beginging to headline festivals across the globe.

“Babel” is an album stuffed to bursting with brilliance and soon to be fan favourite hits. Starting with the title track “Babel” leads as it aims to go on on with trademark guitars and elements of big band orchestra. Bold and brilliant from to start to finish tracks “Lover of the Light” and “Below my Feet” engulf you in warmth and appreciation for a band who remain humble gentlemen of the road.
They have soon jumped to the top of the tree and don’t look to be falling out anytime soon.
