This Belgian band, Arid, made their way in the music industry slowly but surely. They started back in the 90’s winning a famous Belgian rock contest which allowed them to release their first album in 1996. After this albums’s success they toured with bands like Suede and Counting Crows.
During the last 2011 they have been touring mostly in Belgium and at the moment the activity’s band is at a standstill but I am sure they will come back soon to prepare a new album.
Their style is fresh, melodic, easy to hear. This does not mean that they do not know how to use dark overtones in some compositions. Lyrics are full of feelings. Jasper Steverlinck, vocals and guitar of the group, really knows how to tell a story, how to communicate with words. Give a listen to this Flemish band and as always judge yourself and enjoy the tune.
