It seems like I was destined to find this band, so by extension, so were you. I opened two completely separate music apps on my phone and the first band I saw on both of them was this folky-pop gem, The Lighthouse and the Whaler! If you haven’t heard of them before, here’s a little background. They are NOT actually from New England, as one might imagine but are actually from Cleveland, Ohio. The inspiration for the band’s name was taken from the famous novel, Moby Dick.
Radio stations around the country are starting to appreciate Michael LoPresti’s voice that is reminiscent of the Fleet Foxes (with a slightly more upbeat edge). Filled with clapping and xylophone tapping, I’m sure you’ll enjoy sun-drenched track by the Lighthouse and the Whaler.
Much love,
Chelsea
