As its portmanteau name suggests, Trillectro is a music festival focused on hip hop and electronic music. The lines separating hip hop producer, electronic music producer, and DJ have blurred to the point where such an idea is no longer a mashup novelty. This Saturday (8/11) in Washington, D.C., the waterfront will host a 20+ artist lineup that showcases the most innovative artists in contemporary music.
Organized by the hardworking people at D.C. to B.C., Trillectro is an all-day affair starting at noon and ending nearly twelve hours later with headliners Flosstradamus and tickets are still available. I think I’ve already spoken ad naseum in my columns about my love for the Kings of Trap, so here are some lesser-known acts that will be appearing:
BRENMAR – Brenmar combines the perfect mixture of 90s house, middle school dance R&B, and ominous VA Beach drums. He’s basically Bizzarro-universe Timbaland.
FLATBUSH ZOMBIES – I’m going to let the video do all the talking here.

NOUVEAU RICHE – One of several D.C.-based groups included in Trillectro (and props to the organizers for including so much local talent), Nouveau Riche consists of DJs Steve Starks, Nacey, and Gavin Holland. The video above is Nacey’s remix of Future’s “Same Damn Time” and it is absolutely magical.
Tickets are on sale here and you can see the full lineup here. If you’re in the Washington, D.C. area, come and enjoy some of the best music being made today.
