At 9pm on the 31st of July 2012 Biffy Clyro released “Stingin Belle” the first track to appear on “Opposites” the follow up to their 2011 number one album “Only Revolutions”. With much anticipation surrounding the band at the moment it was safe to say that while their previous album was a huge hit, it divided opinion. As they chose a lighter tone, many long-term fans felt that the band had lost touch with what made them brilliant in the first place.
However this track shows that The Biff have missed that energy choosing a much heavier sound and bringing themselves back to the “rockside”. Its just brilliant! Im pleased to say that this track has met my expectation and more and im looking forward to seeing what September has to bring.
If you love music by QOTSA, Nirvana, The Black Keys and Foo Fighters you will love Biffy Clyro. And if you haven’t heard of them you have an exciting back catalogue to unearth: five albums of wonderment and around thirty B sides to implant in your head.
March on over to their website here to check out everything else they have to offer. Much Love x
