Communion Records began as a collaborative effort by London Based folk/blues musicians that wanted to create a platform for emerging artists in the local scene. Started in 2006 by Ben Lovett (Mumford and Sons), Kevin Jones (formerly of Cherbourg) and producer Ian Grimble, they have played a hand in the careers of several UK musicians, including Dead Curious favourite Ben Howard.
The collective of artists associated with Communion has begun to receive recognition in the United States, spearheaded by the success Mumford & Sons have enjoyed with the hipster and prepster crowds, and as any self-respecting music industry organization would do, are now a feature at SXSW Music and Arts Festival in Austin, Texas.
