I rarely dig up tracks dating back a few years, but Shad is in the category of artists you should discover if you haven’t already. The Canadian rapper’s third record “TSOL” was released in 2010 and succeeds in providing an earnest and contemplative hip-hop record, far from the clichés sadly often associated with the genre. “TSOL” is lyrically strong, very strong, and accurately portrays Shad as the eclectic but humble artist we know. “Ya I Get It” is actually a moment where he steps out of character, but the beat is colossal, and you need to listen to it.
