An editor of mine tried to persuade me that as a writer your life should be your work. Write about everything you see, he told me. So to see whether or not this can make for good reading, this blog will be covering the day-to-day goings on of my life.

At the moment I’m working on a few projects. So I’ve selected what are currently the three most important elements of my life as my three main topics. Here is a quick introduction to each of them.

Getting A Job

Then there’s the problem of finding full time work. I recently left my job as a TV Scheduler at EBS New Media to continue work as a freelancer for a video communications website that moments later went bust. So now I’m putting together a couple of ideas to make some money during the in-between.

Moving

I’m uprooting from my property in Bethnal Green to live in a lovely grade two listed building in Blackheath Village. It’s not been easy to get everything together for the move, but every time you move you learn a little bit more about property law.

Before I move over to Blackheath I’m moving back to Wandsworth for a month and a half with my dad, as I’m moving into my new place mid January. My new place is a beautiful property with very high ceilings and a spare room.

We’ll be living on the same road as Dr Gillian McKeith, author of You Are What You Eat. Plus it’s in a lovely area. But locals run all of the nearby shops, so it’s lacking in practical necessities, like a Sainsburys.

Music And Countdown

Setting up a weekly club night at Arch 635 is taking up a lot of my time at the moment. It’s in Clapham and will be called Countdown. Our launch is going to be on New Year’s Eve, so the pressure is on to get in some big bands and DJs who play pop and electro music.

So far I’ve had an overwhelming response from people who are interested in playing, so we should get January booked up fairly quickly. All the promotional material is going to be put together next week for the launch, and then it’s just a question of orchestrating.

There’s still a huge amount of work to do, but fortunately I’ve got a great team together already from previous promotions work that I’ve done. So, this will get off to a mad good start. Everything is still in negotiations at the moment, but as soon as I get confirmation of the acts they’re going straight up on here.

The only person who I can publicly confirm will be DJing at NYE is myself. Then Dizzietron (http://soundcloud.com/dizzietron) will also be DJing for several dates in January. Beyond that, you’ll just have to wait.
