Montreal-based husband and wife duo Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade) and Alexei Perry returned in 2011 with the release of their third record “Sound Kapital” on the legendary Seattle label Sub-Pop. After three albums, it’s about time we stopped calling it a side project.
With “Sound Kapital”, Boeckner and Perry further forge a sound that is now nothing but their own, highlighted by Boeckner’s expressive vocals, a trait that has certainly made him one of the most interesting vocalists in the Canadian music scene.
Handsome Furs have always been a band to tour off the beaten track, often performing in areas forgotten by some of the larger headlining acts. “Sound Kapital” evokes the imagery of their travels, often referencing areas of Eastern Europe and Asia.

Also check out “No Feelings”, a stellar climax offering a beautiful moment of irony to end the album, where Boeckner’s vocals demonstrate yet again that any record he appears on is an even more heart-felt appearance than the previous one.
